 Talk about luck! I was recently chosen to take over management of the old 4-H camp at the local city lake. We move out there April 1st.
But the luck is that I went out there last Saturday and looked up in a tree 40-50 yards east of the dining hall only to see a volkswagen sized nest with two bald eagles chattering back and forth.
I'll post photos very soon!

Re: Talk about luck! saw one last week off of IL 71, between Peru and ottawa, by the huge grain elevator...mama eagle was right there...wife and kids loved it!.. first eagle nest we'vw ever seen

Re: Talk about luck! my family recently went on a "hawk watching" trip. we counted a total of 16 red-tails, 7 bald eagles, and 1 unidentified hawk. this was south of Lacon along the river all the way to Hennepin. the nest just south of Lacon. we also were lucky enough to watch the courtship of 2 bald eagles. unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
