If I let the weight slip like I did this week he will consider carrying. If I keep that up I could end up teaching him to carry. All the more reason to not let the weight control slip and if I do don't push to make things happen. The heat is my excuse this week. ;)

Post Re: My new hunting partner
He has really livened up this week and we seem to arrived at a good weight for now. We are free flying and the baggies are getting a lot tougher. We walk for awhile and I give him the chance to see wild game, birds right now, he has stood tall and looked interested but hasn't committed to anything yet. However when he sees the baggie he is off like a shot. He is really starting to show his speed and I am excited to see him pursue his first wild quarry. In time. :D

Had his first real hunt today. He left the glove after a group of sparrows and they put in after about 30 yards and when they did they flushed a few starlings. He changed course and flew after them for about another 400 yards. I was amazed that his first flight covered so much ground. I got the telemetry and went looking for him. I last saw him go back near some abandoned buildings. The telemetry led me to him after about 15 minutes. It would have been quicker but I was looking up instead of down. I found him about 3' from the building in front of a big window, dead. Looks like he broke his neck.
