Post New to IFO
Thought I would introduce myself. My name is Jason and I live in Utica near Starved Rock. I have wanted to become a falconer since I was a teen. After spending this past weekend with a GHO in my care, I have decided it is time to go for it. I will be at the meet on 3-3 and am really looking forward to it. I currently do a lot of coyote hunting trying to help out the small game population in my area. Haven't had much success this year, couldn't seem to get their schedules down.

Unfortunately the Owl couldn't be saved. The vet said his shoulder, both the ball and socket were completely shattered. It really is too bad. Here is one of the pictures we have of him before heading out to the vet.

Even though the outcome wasn't what we would have hoped for, it was still amazing to watch his view of me change in just three short days. When I approached him in the grass he snapped his beak and hissed. To the last day, when that picture was taken, he was very accepting of my presence and even would walk to the front of the box when i entered the room. Of course he was mostly interested to see if I had that chunk of raw chicken in my hand ;)
