Hi,
I've posted recently looking for someone to help me get started in my area. I understand that it's off season, and there may not be anyone close to me, or that wants to take that responsibility on right now. Totally cool.
I would really like to do whatever I can, before the season starts this year, to be able to get going and jump in. My ultimate goal is to educate kids in my area, about the raptors and what falconry is, as well as the history of the sport. Some of the community centers and schools near me are already rooting for me.
I would be so thankful to anyone who will take some time and maybe text or email back and forth to give me some basic pointers and direction, if nothing else, to help me get my foot in the door.

I'm sorry no one has responded to your post. It seems most people that used to be on this forum a lot have moved to https://www.facebook.com/groups/illinoisfalconry/#!/. I just happened to check the old forum out for the heck of it.
As someone just getting into the interest of the sport, I would say read up as much as possible and maybe even buy a couple videos on the sport. It is more than just a hobby and it really takes up a huge part of your life when you get into it. If you haven't already, do as much internet searching as you can and check out Youtube for falconry videos there too.
